The Step-by-Step Process

- Start by using your moisture meter to identify saturated areas. Follow up with a phenolic hammer to "tap out" the surface.
- Wet Wood/Core: Produces a dull, heavy thud.
- Rotted Core: Typically sounds hollow.

Label The Wet Areas
- Label each area with the specific readings from your meter. This creates a visual map for our technicians.

Take Small Core Samples (Optional)
- To confirm your findings, drill a small test hole in the highest reading area. Use a 3/16" or 1/4" drill bit. Large core samples are not necessary.
- Always ensure you are not drilling into tanks, wiring, or hoses.
